July's new arrivals from Seamstar

In my opinion the month of July is one of the most fruitful during the year because everybody is looking for something original and colourful as are my handbags.

For this reason I chose some lovely fat quarters from the site Seamstar and I'm ready to use these beauties for my creation.

Here you can see:

- Pac Man by Timeless Treasures: a great print for those who love old school video games

- Shards by Heather Moore: the designer has played with the plane geometry of the trilateral shape

- Birdcage by Dear Stella: a fat quarter with the classic regency pattern of the birds and their cage

and

-Folklorico Los Novios + Corazones Hearts by Alexander Henry: they are definately my favorite ones because I am a big fan of Alexander Henry and their collection inspired by the popular Mexican culture of Santa Muerte is simply beautiful. With Corazones Hearts I made the messenger bag Leticia and I'm really sorry to say that it's already sold on my estore.

Sono davvero convinta che Luglio sia per me uno dei mesi più proficui dell'anno perchè tutti sono alla ricerca di qualche accessorio colorato e inusuale, magari proprio come le mie borse.

Per questa ragione ho scelto dei nuovi colorati fat quarters dalla collezione di Seamstar e sono pronta a usarli per fare qualcosa di speciale.

- Shards di Heather Moore: qui la designer ha giocato con la geometria della figura a tre punte

- Birdcage di Dear Stella: un fat quarter con il classico motivo del periodo "reggenza" inglese degli uccellini e delle loro gabbie

- Folklorico Los Novios + Corazones Hearts di Alexander Henry: questi sono assolutamente i miei preferiti in quanto adoro Alexander Henry ed inoltre la loro collezione ispirata alla cultura popolare messicana della Santa Muerte è davvero bella. Con la stoffa con i cuori sacri ho realizzato la borsetta a tracolla Leticia ma aimè è già andata a ruba nel mio negozio online.

Awesome Citoyennes de Berlin

Appena ho visto il negozio online della giovane designer berlinese Andrea è stato amore a prima vista. Così mi sono interessata ai suoi lavori e sono diventata una vera fan delle creazioni Citoyennes de Berlin. Andrea ama rielaborare grafiche vintage anni Sessanta (vedi gli adesivi con la mela) e anche i temi floreali (ispirati alla pittura nordica settecentesca). Il mio preferito in assoluto rimane il tema dell'uccellino sulla spilla e non vedo l'ora di appendere in casa le tre cartoline con il cerbiatto con le ali, il pettirosso e la lepre con papillon. Nelle foto si vede solo una piccola selezione dei suoi oggetti, vi consiglio di visitare il suo blog per respirare un po' di fresca aria berlinese e ammirare tutti suoi lavori.

Andrea is a Berlin-based young designer and owner of a cool lil-brand Citoyennes de Berlin. I'm interested in her artworks and I'm very fond of Citoyennes de Berlin's creations . Andrea loves vintage sixties graphic (see the stickers with the apple) and even the floral theme (such of the eighteenth century). My absolute favorite subject is the bird on the brooch and I can't wait to hang at home the three postcards with winged deer, the robin and the hare with a bow tie. I recommend you visit her blog to breathing the fresh air of Berlin.

Love you Owl-ways

Spesso per realizzare un'idea carina basta davvero poco e nel mio caso è bastato avere sottomano un pezzo di cotone arancione e un filo blu (meglio se di qualità, io ho usato infatti un filato 100% cotone egiziano Aurifil).

Volevo ricamare qualcosa di speciale e da incorniciare così sono andata sul sicuro: un gufo.

Ho sfogliato il mio moleskine "breviario dell'ispirazione" e ho ripreso un disegno con un gufo dalle ali aperte. Poi ho modificato gli occhi e mi sono messa all'opera.

Per dare ritmo al ricamo ho usato diversi spessori al punto e ho aggiunto solo un tocco di filo beige per il dettaglio delle ali.

Sono davvero soddisfatta del risultato e soprattutto mi piace tantissimo l'effetto lucente che assume il filato di cotone blu quando è colpito dalla luce.

Sometime you need just a few things to make a nice needlework. For me it was enough to have a piece of orance cotton and blue cotton thread (I used a 100% egyptian cotton by Aurifil ).

I need to stitch something special on it so I kept a safe subject: an owl.

I consulted my moleskine "compendium of inspiration" and I took a picture with an owl with open wings. Then I changed its eyes and I started to work.

I gave rhythm to embroidery by using a different thickness to the points and I added just a touch of beige thread on the wings' detail.

I'm really satisfied about the result and most of all I like the bright effect that assume the blue cotton thread when it's struck by light.

What a mawkish girl!

Button Mad-mania

L'anno scorso tra i vari regali di natale, ho trovato una confezione di bottoni artigianali in gres a forma di cagnolino. Da quel momento la mia profonda ammirazione per ogni bottone di Buttonmad è cresciuta sempre più.

Sono tantissimi e svariati i temi che è possibile ritrovare sui bottoni: cani, gatti, gufi, foglie, fiocchi di neve, cuori, ochette e.... la lista continua

Per scoprire tutta la collezione potete visitare il sito online buttonmad.it oppure se vi capita di visitare qualche fiera dell'artigianato, sicuramente potrete trovare il loro stand. Io ho incontrato di persona Alessio e signora ad Abilmente e vi confermo che sono persone gentilissime ed entusiaste dei propri prodotti.

Tutti i bottoni in ceramica e gres sono realizzati artigianalmente in Sud Africa con smalti naturali e senza acidi.

Non vedo l'ora di utilizzare i miei nuovi bottoni per abbellire borse, astucci e spille.

Come vedete dalle foto ora ho una grande scelta di bottoni a cui attingere: cani, gatti, omini di pan di zenzero, cupcake, gabbiani, gufi, cuori, teiere, foglie e ghiande!

Today I wanna show you the handmade buttons that I received from the website Buttonmad.it

You can find a variety of buttons in shapes and subjects. I've chose the dogs, forest, leaves, gingermen, cats, birds, owls and hedgehogs themes. All the buttons are handmade in South Africa with ceramics and stoneware.

They're great! I can't wait to use the buttons for my lovely creations.

Ho realizzato un porta iPhone 4 e un copri MacBook Pro da 15'' in coordinato sul tema del cigno.

Mi è piaciuta subito l'idea del cigno e sono molto soddisfatta del lavoro!

L'ultima borsa che ho realizzato si chiama FLORALIE. Trovo irresistibile il cotone a stampa olandese che ho acquistato poco tempo fa. Ho potuto ricavare solo questo pezzo e quindi faccio i miei complimenti a chi si aggiudicherà questa meravigliosa borsa.

The last bag I create is called FLORALIE. I find it irresistible with pink Dutch cotton that I bought recently. I could only get this piece and then I offer my congratulations to those who buy win this beautiful bag.

Non trovare deliziosa questa scatola porta caramelle vegan? Si tratta di un dono della cara Twinkie. Appena l'ho ricevuta è stato amore a prima vista. L'uccellino sul coperchio è delizioso!

Is this delicious vegan candy box absolutely beautiful? This is a gift from the beloved Lady Twinkie. As soon as I received it was love at first sight. The bird on the cover is SOOO delicious!

Per ultimo vi presento il mio acquisto più recente. Si tratta di un vestito in seta color rosa antico stampato con gallinelle. L'ho acquistato nella boutique padovana di Lazzari. Non ho saputo resistere!

Finally I introduce you my most recent purchase. It is a pink silk dress printed with hens. I've purchased in the boutiqueLazzari of Padua . I could not resist!
