Warm memories from the Highlands

I talked about my wonderful and wild holiday in the Highlands in this post, but today I would like to share with you my scottish drawings that remind me a lot of warm memories.

Besides of my camera and my rucksack I've bring with me my lovely Moleskine where I've collected the best landscapes I saw during my holiday.

I've drawn few but specials scottish places like the seaport of Malleig, the Dunvengan Castle and the Quiraing on the Isle of Skye and the beautiful Eilean Donan Castle.

What can I add more? It has been a charming holiday.

 

Ho parlato della mia meravigliosa e selvaggia nelle Highlands in questo post, ma oggi vorrei condividere con voi i disegni che ho fatto e che mi ricordano i tanti bei posti che ho visitato. 

Oltre alla mia macchina fotografica e al mio zaino ho portato con me il mio inseparabile moleskine in cui ho immortalato i migliori paesaggi che ho ammirato durante la mia vacanza.

Ho disegnato pochi ma intensi luoghi scozzesi&come il porto di Malleig, il castello di Dunvengan e le cime del Quiraing sull'isola di Skye ed infine il bellissimo Eilean Donan Castle. 

Cosa posso aggiungere di più? E' stata una vacanza davvero incredibile.

Moleskinerie #3

Finalmente si è conclusa una settimana davvero pregna di notizie e stravolgimenti. In breve ho consegnato la tesi che sancisce la conclusione dei miei studi presso la Ca' Foscari di Venezia ma sono ripartita per Milano con un dolore nel cuore per la perdita di un caro in famiglia, che ha annerito la gioia per aver terminato la tesi. Sono ancora un po' frastornata da questi eventi ma tra alti e bassi non vedo l'ora che una nuova settimana abbia inizio. 

Ho trovato il tempo di scansionare alcune pagine del mio prezioso Moleskine così potete vedere come prendono vita le mie idee.
Mi piace conservare pezzi delle più belle stoffe che ho usato, come "Eiffel Tower" di Micheal Miller (acquistata nel negozio online Fancy Moon), oppure "Unikko Mini" di Marimekko (selezionata dal negozio online Koti Design-House). Presto realizzerò la borsa del gatto col papillon, mentre devo ancora decidere come usare il tema del cavallo a dondolo. In montagna mi sono divertita a colorare foglie d'acero con la tecnica del frottage, mentre ad Urbino ho disegnato il prospetto della chiesa mentre aspettavo di entrare alla galleria nazionale.

 

The good week-news is that i finished my thesis, the bad one is that i lost a family member. Between highs and lows I'm happy for the week has to come.

I like keeping a memory of pieces from the most beautiful fabrics I used, such "Eiffel Tower" by Michael Miller (purchased into Fancy Moon online store), or "Mini Unikko" by Marimekko (selected from Koti Design-house online store). 

Soon the bag with cat and bow tie will come true, while I have yet to decide how to use the theme of rocking horse. I had great time in mountains, where I coloured maple leaves with the technique of frottage, while in Urbino I have sketched the façade of the church before visiting the National Gallery.

I love adding to the pages some scraps from my latest fabrics.

When I lost in my thoughts, the ideas comes to me.

I drew this owl from an embroidery panel by Mrs Archibald Christie (1914), from The Victoria & Albert Museum's textile collection.

I saw on the train this cap from a girl and I was inspired for a new hat with rabbit ears.

I pasted the Henri Matisse's Il lanciatore di coltelli (1947).

I made ​​some sketches (a bag and a dress) and I put next to them two piece of cloth that I would use.

I cut pieces of cloth from my last fabrics shopping.
