Hello my name is totoro

Totoro is undoubtedly my favorite character from Hayao Miyazaki's filmography. For this reason I created a new felt brooch: Totoro available on http://fedulab.bigcartel.com/

I made both grey and blue version, but my favorite is the grey one. 

If you buy one you will receive the brooch inside a lovely packaging, a green leaves pack. I used a green softie paper and I sewed the leaves nervature with my sewing machine. 

Finally I stiched up with a button and I applied a cute tag.

Totoro è senza dubbio il mio personaggio preferito dei film di Hayao Miyazaki, per questo motivo ho creato una spilla tributo in feltro: Totoro disponibile nel mio negozio online http://fedulab.bigcartel.com/

Ho realizzato sia la versione grigia che quella blu, ma la mia preferita rimane quella grigia. 

Se acquisterete uno spilla Totoro la riceverete all'interno di un delizioso packaging ovvero un pacchetto di foglie verdi. 

Ho usato una morbida carta verde su cui ho riprodotto le nervature delle foglie con la mia macchina da cucire. Alla fine ho chiuso il fagottino con un paio di punti di cucito e ho applicato un la simpatica tag. 

A me piacciono tantissimo e hanno già riscosso successo ;)

April's new arrivals from Seamstar

Aprile si è aperto nel migliore dei modi: finalmente ho ricevuto tre bellissime stoffe dal negozio online inglese Seamstar con cui creerò nuove borse e astucci estivi. 

Su Seamstar avevo a disposizione una vasta scelta di stoffe primaverili dei migliori designer tessili ma alla fine ho puntato su queste tre stoffe. 

Per prima ho scelto "Kitty in Red" disegnata da Chloe's Closet perché richiama il tema del gatto e soprattutto perché rimanda allo stile anni '30: colori nitidi, immagini semplici e fantasia a pois. 

Dallo stile spensierato di "Kitty in Red" si passa alla fantasia contagiosa di Alexander Henry e della sua "Leaf in Red" (dalla collezione "Griffith Park"). Sul cotone si intrecciano rami di vite con foglie colorate che sfumano dal rosa al vinaccia. 

Infine che cosa si ottiene se si prende qualche agrume, qualche ortaggi ed utensili da cucina e li si vuole mischiare con una punta di stile retro? Ecco che nasce il cotone "Veggies" creato da Maude Asbury (collezione "Kitchy Kitchen") caratterizzato da colori brillanti, disegni nitidi e quella punta di grafica anni '60 che amo tanto. 

Per questo motivo ho subito "aggredito" questo cotone e ho confezionato una simpatica borsa estiva: VEGGIE che sicuramente andrà a ruba nel mio Bigcartel. 

Ora non mi resta che lavorare sulle altre stoffe ^_^

April has started in the best way: I received three beautiful fabrics from the online store Seamstar with which I will create new summer bags and cute cases. On Seamstar you can find a wide range of seasonal fabrics from best designers and in the end I focused my attention on these three cottons. 

First, I chose "Kitty in Red" designed by Chloe's Closet because she recalls the theme of the cat, represents a longing for the past in both colour and pattern like the '30s style: vibrant colors, simple images and polka dots prints. 

From the carefree style of "Kitty in Red" we can jump to the contagious fancy of Alexander Henry and his "Leaf in Red" (from the collection "Griffith Park"). It features vines and leaves, in a creative wavy design where the pink shades off into deep purple. 

What do you get if you take some citrus, some vegetables and kitchen utensils, and and give them a touch of retro style? You get the cotton "Veggies" created by Maude Asbury (collection "Kitchen Kitchy") characterized by bright colors, clear drawings and graphics that recall the '60s. 

I love this cotton and for this reason I have "attacked" it and created a nice summer bag: VEGGIE. It sells like hot cakes on my Bigcartel.

Moleskinerie #3

Finalmente si è conclusa una settimana davvero pregna di notizie e stravolgimenti. In breve ho consegnato la tesi che sancisce la conclusione dei miei studi presso la Ca' Foscari di Venezia ma sono ripartita per Milano con un dolore nel cuore per la perdita di un caro in famiglia, che ha annerito la gioia per aver terminato la tesi. Sono ancora un po' frastornata da questi eventi ma tra alti e bassi non vedo l'ora che una nuova settimana abbia inizio. 

Ho trovato il tempo di scansionare alcune pagine del mio prezioso Moleskine così potete vedere come prendono vita le mie idee.
Mi piace conservare pezzi delle più belle stoffe che ho usato, come "Eiffel Tower" di Micheal Miller (acquistata nel negozio online Fancy Moon), oppure "Unikko Mini" di Marimekko (selezionata dal negozio online Koti Design-House). Presto realizzerò la borsa del gatto col papillon, mentre devo ancora decidere come usare il tema del cavallo a dondolo. In montagna mi sono divertita a colorare foglie d'acero con la tecnica del frottage, mentre ad Urbino ho disegnato il prospetto della chiesa mentre aspettavo di entrare alla galleria nazionale.

 

The good week-news is that i finished my thesis, the bad one is that i lost a family member. Between highs and lows I'm happy for the week has to come. 

Here you are my precious Moleskine's pages where I sketched my ideas. I like keeping a memory of pieces from the most beautiful fabrics I used, such "Eiffel Tower" by Michael Miller (purchased into Fancy Moon online store), or "Mini Unikko" by Marimekko (selected from Koti Design-house online store). 

Soon the bag with cat and bow tie will come true, while I have yet to decide how to use the theme of rocking horse. I had great time in mountains, where I coloured maple leaves with the technique of frottage, while in Urbino I have sketched the façade of the church before visiting the National Gallery.

Fall, crafts, leaves and a vintage Bianchi

Ieri pomeriggio io e la mia amica Gloria ci siamo inoltrate nella campagna sul Lago di Como e abbiamo fatte delle foto per le nuove creazioni. Con la sua vintage Bianchi ci siamo sospinte in un angolino tranquillo e colorato.

La borsa autunnale e le collane si sono ambientate perfettamente con il paesaggio e Gloria sa bene come aderire allo spirito Fedulab. Mi ha anche dato l'idea di proporre con lo stesso cotone elastico delle cinture.

Se la creatività è rendere autentico il prodotto è tra questi prati incoronati dalle montagne che ho radicato i miei ricordi. Nonostante tutto quello che mi è accaduto qui mi sento in armonia. Mia nonna dice che per andare lontano ci vogliono radici profonde. Le radici sono qui, le fronde chissà dove si spingeranno.

Yesterday my friend Gloria, her vintage Bianchi and I went into the countryside on Lake Como and we took pictures in a quiet and colorful place for new creations.
The fall's bag and the necklaces was set perfectly with the landscape and Gloria knows how to embrace the Fedulab-spirit. She gave me the idea to propose the same stretch cotton for a belt.
If creativity means to make truly products, it's between these mountains that I rooted my memories. Despite what is happened to me in this bad period, here I feel in harmony. My roots are here, who knows where I will push my foliage.

The Autumn Leaves Fall

La mia ricetta per l'autunno è il verde acido e il beige. Adoro la combinazione dei due colori e in base a questi ho creato una borsa e delle collane autunnali.

Ispirandomi alla nuova stagione ho abbellito la borsa con una maxi tasca fatta di tante foglie in tweed inglese. La chiusura è a bottone clip e l'interno è foderato con tasca.

Finita la borsa mi sono decisa di creare delle collane in cotone elastico beige e verde acido (tipo quello delle t-shirt). Per farle in coordinato ho nascosto il nodo delle collane dietro le sagome delle foglie ricavate dal restante tweed. Infine ho aggiunto qualche perla di legno e dei bottoncini sulle tweed-foglie.

Oggi mia mamma si è finalmente rimessa a camminare e già mi ha prenotato una borsa a tracolla su questo motivo. Prima di tornare a Padova gliela devo fare (sono stata minacciata!).

My recipe for autumn's collection are the acid green and beige colours. I love this combination and I created a bag and autumn necklace with leaves.

Inspired by the new season I embellished the bag with a big pocket made ​​of many leaves in English tweed. The closure is button-clips and the inside is lined with pockets.

After the bag I decided to create necklaces in stretch cotton beige and acid green (like t-shirt cotton). I hid the knot behind the shapes of leaves taken from the remaining tweed. Finally I added some wood-pearls and buttons on the and leaves-Tweed.

Cover MacBook

Vi presento l'ultima creazione che ho completato ieri: Acorns cover laptop per MacBook.

Stavo bevendo un caffe con amici in un bar quando scorgo dalla vetrina una mia amica. Ci salutiamo e mi dice che mi stava pensando per crearle una cover per il suo MacBook. Bene! Questo è essere nel posto giusto al momento giusto!

Dopo aver definito i colori e la fantasia del tessuto mi sono messa all'opera ed ecco il risultato finale. Ho applicato delle deliziose ghiande sul cotone giapponese beige a pois bianchi proveniente da un negozio inglese di mia fiducia, mentre l'interno è stato foderato con neoprene.

Ora devo solo consegnarlo ;)
