Sweet disposition

It has been a long time since the last time I wrote here..awww! In the last post I mentioned my mum's surgery at her head, honestly everything seems to be going well for the relief of my family. 

During this month in Italy I didn't create anything (sight!) due to my "business" as housekeeper but I missed so much my sewing machine and all my fabrics. Besides cleaning my family's house and taking care of my mum I've enjoyed the bright sun on the Lake Como during the fall, the scent of the rain on the mountain and cuddling my animals. 

Now I'm back in my sweet house in Portsmouth but another great changing is waiting for us. At the end of the year we are going to move in a new gracious flat in Guildford, aproximately 75 km far from here. The point is that we are going to start over a new adventure, new routine, new friends and go on...but it's life. Sometimes I fell scared about this, but life is short and we have to maximise our experiences and take everything in a positive way ;)

Eccomi di nuovo attiva! E' passato più di un mese dall'ultima volta che ho scritto il post sull'operazione alla testa di mia mamma. Attualmente sembrerebbe che tutto sia andato e stia andando al meglio per la gioia della mia famiglia. Durante questo mese speso nella mia cittadina di Colico non ho creato nulla a causa dei miei impegni da casalinga (disperata). 

Quanto mi sono mancate le stoffe e la mia macchina da cucire! Oltre alle mie mansioni da governante ho però assaporato di nuovo il gradevole tepore del sole autunnale, il profumo della pioggia in montagna e le coccole dei miei animaletti. 

Or ora sono tornata nella mia casetta inglese di Portsmouth...ma c'è poco da prendersela con comodo perchè a fine anno ci aspetta un nuovo trasloco a Guildford, una città del Surrey a circa 75 km nord da qui; il che significa ricostruirsi una nuova routine, farsi nuovi amici e ambientarsi in una nuova dimensione e via di seguito, ma se c'è una cosa di cui sono certa è che la vita è più breve di quanto si creda e che quindi bisogna massimizzare ogni esperienza e prendere per il verso giusto ogni nuova sfida. Così sia ;)

I've another great news: the Kitty scarves are back. One year has passed since the last time I made them and  now the are again available to keep you warm. Meooow! This is only a preview but soon I'll post the official pictures.

Finally I've prepared some new aprons for cooking up art!

La settimana scorsa ho terminato una cover per una cliente davvero geek. Ho utilizzato la bellissima stoffa "Geek gone Wild Pacman" disegnata da Kyla May per Timeless Treasures. La cover è un bellissimo regalo per i fanatici dei videogiochi e soprattutto per chiunque sia nostalgico dell'icona per eccellenza degli anni 80.

Ho un'altra grande novità: le sciarpe gatto sono tornate. E' già passato un anno dall'ultima volta che le ho create e ora sono tornate per tenervi al calduccio per il prossimo autunno e inverno. Questa è solo una preview e presto farò le foto ufficiale alle sciarpe gattose.

Inoltre ho realizzato anche dei nuovi grembiuli da cucina.

Bene direi che questo è tutto dal mio laboratorio creativo ^_^

Happy customers September

It's always nice to hear from satisfied customers and that's why I love sharing their pictures with you.

Let's start with Noemi from Manchester, a very berry girl! She fell in love with Axeline handbag because it's full of strawberries and she look really chic.
   
Suzan from Apeldoorn (Belgium) loves everything connected with Marimekko but she also like the handy bags. For this reason I've created a special messenger bag with original Unikko Mini fabric from Marimekko. Now she can put everything in this bag and take it with her also on a flying bridge!
 
Probably I'll start a new project: my first Fedulab. Basically I would like to create some little bags for children and young ladies like Aurora. She loves this petite messenger bag and I can assure you she brings her red bag everywhere. Lovely Aurora.

Now it's the turn of Alba, an amazing Spanish girl who lives in Southsea (exactly 400m far from my house hihihi). With the Veggie handbag was love at the first sight! I was really pleased that she brought Veggie at the Garlic Festival on the Isle of Wight.

Forest Theme

Con queste giornate piovose e grigie ho cercato di colorare le mie borse con tinte autunnali e con stoffe che richiamassero il mondo del bosco.

Gufi, funghi e fiori autunnali sono pronti a ravvivare il vostro look di novembre.

Dopo vari esperimenti sono nate le borse a tracolla FOREST OWLS, FOREST MUSHROOMS e CATH; tutte disponibili nel negozio online.

Ho usato il delizioso cotone Alexander Henry's 'spotted owls' acquistato dal sito inglese Fancy Moon con tanti simpatici gufi un po' permalosi.

Il velluto a fiori e le stoffe con i funghi provengono dalla mia collezione personale di stoffe.

I bottoni a forma di foglia (troppo carini!) provengono dal sito italiano Buttonmad.it e li ho subito apprezzati per i loro colori caldi e autunnali.

Buon autunno e buona merenda...vado a mangiare un po' di nespole!

During these gray days I tried to color with autumn's colors and forest theme fabrics all my bags

I used the lovely Alexander Henry Cotton's' spotted owls' purchased from the British site Fancy Moon.

The velvet fabric with flowers and the cotton with mushrooms come from my personal and precious collection of fabrics.

Cute Cats Sleeves

Quanto mi mancava creare dei simpatici gatti. Come al solito ho usato per gli occhi dei bottoni e ho ricamato col filo di lana la bocca e il naso. Le orecchiette sono in feltro e la base è in lana marrone e beige

I tre gatti strambi si chiamano Oliver, Otto e Orazio.

Questi gatti-cover cell possono "mangiare" telefonini o lettori mp3 che non eccedano nelle dimensioni di 13cm X 7cm.

Loro aspettano di essere adottati!

It was a long time that I didn't create some cute cats. I used buttons for eyes and I embroidered with wool thread their mouths and noses. The ears are made with felt while the base is composed by brown and beige wool

The three weirdO cats are called Oliver, Otto and Orazio.

These cats cover-cell can "eat" any device that has measurements not to exceed 13cm x 7cm.

They are waiting to be adopted!

Button Mad-mania

L'anno scorso tra i vari regali di natale, ho trovato una confezione di bottoni artigianali in gres a forma di cagnolino. Da quel momento la mia profonda ammirazione per ogni bottone di Buttonmad è cresciuta sempre più.

Sono tantissimi e svariati i temi che è possibile ritrovare sui bottoni: cani, gatti, gufi, foglie, fiocchi di neve, cuori, ochette e.... la lista continua

Per scoprire tutta la collezione potete visitare il sito online buttonmad.it oppure se vi capita di visitare qualche fiera dell'artigianato, sicuramente potrete trovare il loro stand. Tutti i bottoni in ceramica e gres sono realizzati artigianalmente in Sud Africa con smalti naturali e senza acidi.

Non vedo l'ora di utilizzare i miei nuovi bottoni per abbellire borse, astucci e spille.

Today I wanna show you the handmade buttons that I received from the website Buttonmad.it

You can find a variety of buttons in shapes and subjects. I've chose the dogs, forest, leaves, gingermen, cats, birds, owls and hedgehogs themes. All the buttons are handmade in South Africa with ceramics and stoneware.

They're great! I can't wait to use the buttons for my lovely creations.

Pantone fashion textures: fall 2011

La prima sensazione che ho avuto nel vedere le palettes promosse da Pantone per la stagione autunnale è stata una piacevole sorpresa.

Credo che l'autunno sia una stagione ricca di contrasti, in cui le giornate possono offrire venti gelidi e raggi caldi di sole. I colori neutri quali grigi, verdi e marroni si sposano bene con punte di accesi colori caldi e freddi. Il resto è una questione di gusto e sensibilità.

Di sicura ispirazione per me saranno i colori Cedar, Coffee Liquèur, Quarry e Nougat. Per voi invece?

Fall, crafts, leaves and a vintage Bianchi

Ieri pomeriggio io e la mia amica Gloria ci siamo inoltrate nella campagna sul Lago di Como e abbiamo fatte delle foto per le nuove creazioni. Con la sua vintage Bianchi ci siamo sospinte in un angolino tranquillo e colorato.

La borsa autunnale e le collane si sono ambientate perfettamente con il paesaggio e Gloria sa bene come aderire allo spirito Fedulab. Mi ha anche dato l'idea di proporre con lo stesso cotone elastico delle cinture.

Se la creatività è rendere autentico il prodotto è tra questi prati incoronati dalle montagne che ho radicato i miei ricordi. Nonostante tutto quello che mi è accaduto qui mi sento in armonia. Mia nonna dice che per andare lontano ci vogliono radici profonde. Le radici sono qui, le fronde chissà dove si spingeranno.

Yesterday my friend Gloria, her vintage Bianchi and I went into the countryside on Lake Como and we took pictures in a quiet and colorful place for new creations.
The fall's bag and the necklaces was set perfectly with the landscape and Gloria knows how to embrace the Fedulab-spirit. She gave me the idea to propose the same stretch cotton for a belt.
If creativity means to make truly products, it's between these mountains that I rooted my memories. Despite what is happened to me in this bad period, here I feel in harmony. My roots are here, who knows where I will push my foliage.

The Autumn Leaves Fall

La mia ricetta per l'autunno è il verde acido e il beige. Adoro la combinazione dei due colori e in base a questi ho creato una borsa e delle collane autunnali.

Ispirandomi alla nuova stagione ho abbellito la borsa con una maxi tasca fatta di tante foglie in tweed inglese. La chiusura è a bottone clip e l'interno è foderato con tasca.

Finita la borsa mi sono decisa di creare delle collane in cotone elastico beige e verde acido (tipo quello delle t-shirt). Per farle in coordinato ho nascosto il nodo delle collane dietro le sagome delle foglie ricavate dal restante tweed. Infine ho aggiunto qualche perla di legno e dei bottoncini sulle tweed-foglie.

Oggi mia mamma si è finalmente rimessa a camminare e già mi ha prenotato una borsa a tracolla su questo motivo. Prima di tornare a Padova gliela devo fare (sono stata minacciata!).

My recipe for autumn's collection are the acid green and beige colours. I love this combination and I created a bag and autumn necklace with leaves.

Inspired by the new season I embellished the bag with a big pocket made ​​of many leaves in English tweed. The closure is button-clips and the inside is lined with pockets.

After the bag I decided to create necklaces in stretch cotton beige and acid green (like t-shirt cotton). I hid the knot behind the shapes of leaves taken from the remaining tweed. Finally I added some wood-pearls and buttons on the and leaves-Tweed.

Sunography Fabric Kit - Sun Powered Photography.
Place any object or transparency on the sunography fabric. Expose in bright sunlight, and rinse with water to reveal a rich blue print over assorted colours of fabric. Sunography fabric is 100% cotton, and light sensitive on both sides to make two sided prints. The superior quality of sunography fabric produces finely detailed prints. The prints can also be toned yellow or sepia using rinses with common household liquids. This type of print dates back to 1842 and was popularized by Anne Atkins, one of the first female photographers.
