Cat cat caaaaat! Baize and Missy Von Vanity

At the end I have released new items on my Big Cartel store and I am really proud of them. We can start with the cat theme (yes, I am a cat lover): 

BAIZE, a gorgeous large messenger bag made in black cotton shaped as a black cat ready to pounce onto something. A very cat bag. 

MISSY VON VANITY, a zipper pouch that you can use to carry money, cards, cosmetics, a camera, ipod, pencils and other small essentials a girl needs. On the red polka dot cotton I have sewn (appliqué) a black cat with button-eyes and hand-embroidered smile. Her brown polka dot tail is a long strip and the four paws are really cute, a cherry on the cake! 

As you can see both are featured by a zipper closure to keep your things from dropping away. It is a revolution for me and I promise I will use zipper closures as much as I can.

Finalmente ho pubblicato nel mio negozio online Fedulab le nuove creazioni che ho terminato durante queste due settimane di silenzio, sono proprio soddisfatta del risultato. Iniziamo con una borsa tracolla e un astuccio basate sul tema del gatto (si si adoro i gatti!): 

BAIZE è una spaziosa tracolla in cotone nero sagomata come il musetto di un vigile gatto pronto a saltare da qualche parte. Si può dire che è proprio una borsa per una cat lady! L'interno è foderato e ha una tasca per cellulare, chiavi ect. 

MISSY VON VANITY è un astuccio che può essere usato per trucchi, monete, tessere, macchine digitali, penne e tutto l'essenziale che una ragazza può avere bisogno. Puuurfect! Su un cotone rosso a pois ho applicato il corpo di un gatto nero a cui ho aggiunto gli occhi-bottoni e il sorriso con un ricamo a mano. Inoltre la coda marrone a pois può essere usato come laccio e le zampette sono davvero deliziose. Come potete vedere per entrambi ho usato una chiusura con zip in modo tale che più niente possa fuoriuscire dalla vostra borsa, si può dire che è una rivoluzione per me e prometto di usare zip a sproposito!

How to bake...a zipper case

Good morning! Today I would like to submit an easy recipe to bake your zipper case.

Everybody is always in need of these kind of useful cases above all when you want to keep your stuff like medicines and cosmetics organized.

Keep it simple.

Prepare the dough of the cases with your favorite ingredients and place it in the oven.

Add a teaspoon of baking powder...and let it rise!

But if you don't have time to cook you can place an order with me, just drop me an email fedulab[at]gmail.com.

For example I've prepared three cases for Federica with Odoriko, Large rose and blue stripes fabrics. These cases are fully lined and interfaced so that they keep their shape.

Buongiorno! Oggi vorrei condividere con voi una veloce e utile ricetta per cucinare i vostri astucci.

Tutti hanno bisogno di questi indispensabili contenitori per tenere in ordine cosmetici, medicine e qualsiasi oggetto di piccole dimensioni.

Quindi rendiamoci la vita più semplice.

Preparate la pasta per gli astucci con i vostri ingredienti preferiti e adagiatela nel forno.

Aggiungete un cucchiaino di lievito in polvere e per magia la base lieviterà!

Juliet and Dee Dee

Buon sabato! Proprio oggi ho deciso di pubblicare nel mio negozio online le romantiche borse in stoffa Juliet e Dee Dee perfette per la bella stagione. Ormai conoscete la mia dipendenza da cotoni stampati ;)

Per creare Juliet ho utilizzato il cotone stampato a cuori Hearts and Dots (mio recente acquisto su Abakhan) mentre per il bordo ho deciso di applicare il cotone anni '30 Kitty in Red di Chloe's Closet. La ciliegina sulla torta di Juliet è la spilla a fiocco creata con un simpatico bottone felino di Buttonmad. 

So chic! 

Dee Dee ha un carattere più spigliato e la sua forma la rende pratica in ogni occasione. Per questa tracolla ho deciso di evidenziare al massimo la bellezza del pattern Kitty in Red (acquistato su Seamstar) usando solo questo cotone aggiungendo pochi dettagli: un bordo nero, la tracolla e il bottone bianco. 

Viva la semplicità!

Happy Saturday! 

Today I decided to upload online the romantic fabric handbags Juliet and Dee Dee perfectly suited for this spring. 

I used the printed cotton Hearts and Dots (my recent purchase from Abakhan) to create Juliet while for its board I decided to apply the 30s cotton style Kitty in Red by Chloe's Closet. The icing on the cake for Juliet is the bow brooch with a cute button cat by Buttonmad. 

So chic! 

Dee Dee is a more breezy and its shape makes it very practical for every occasion. For this shoulder bag I decided to emphasize the beauty of Kitty in red (purchased from Seamstar). In fact I added only few details: a black shoulder strap and a white button. 

Long live simplicity!

Quante cose si possono creare da un singolo pezzo di stoffa?

A mio parere tante! In questo post vi mostro cosa sono riuscita a creare con il tessuto "Sweet Treats Cupcakes" disegnato da Michael Miller e che ho acquistato nel negozio online inglese Nelaro Fabrics (eBay).

Partendo dal presupposto che il tessuto è davvero molto bello e primaverile, ho potuto creare vari oggetti e soddisfare le richieste personalizzate delle mie clienti. 

Con la stoffa cupcake ho creato un porta iPad 2, un simpatico astuccio (trousse) e la borsa Delicia (sold out nel mio negozio online!). 

Fino a qui tutte cose normali, finché un'infermiera pediatrica mi ha domandato se potevo crearle una cuffia da indossare in ospedale...e così è nata la cuffia cupcake! Sicuramente i bambini in ospedale la troveranno più simpatica e magari si faranno fare le punture con più serenità. 

 

How many things can be created from a single yard of fabric? 

I think a lot and in this post I will show you what I created with the fabric "Sweet Treats Cupcakes" designed by Michael Miller and purchased from the Nelaro Fabrics online store (eBay). 

The fabric is really nice and cute so I made various objects and I met the demands of my own clients. With "Sweet Treats Cupcakes" I created a cute iPad 2 case (sleeve), a nice zippered case (cosmetic bag) and the tote bag Delicia (sold out on my estore!). 

Finally I created an unusual thing: a pediatric nurse asked me if I could create a scrub hat to wear in the hospital ... and so I made the cupcake scrub hat! Surely children in the hospital will find it funny.

April's new arrivals from Seamstar

Aprile si è aperto nel migliore dei modi: finalmente ho ricevuto tre bellissime stoffe dal negozio online inglese Seamstar con cui creerò nuove borse e astucci estivi. 

Su Seamstar avevo a disposizione una vasta scelta di stoffe primaverili dei migliori designer tessili ma alla fine ho puntato su queste tre stoffe. 

Per prima ho scelto "Kitty in Red" disegnata da Chloe's Closet perché richiama il tema del gatto e soprattutto perché rimanda allo stile anni '30: colori nitidi, immagini semplici e fantasia a pois. 

Dallo stile spensierato di "Kitty in Red" si passa alla fantasia contagiosa di Alexander Henry e della sua "Leaf in Red" (dalla collezione "Griffith Park"). Sul cotone si intrecciano rami di vite con foglie colorate che sfumano dal rosa al vinaccia. 

Infine che cosa si ottiene se si prende qualche agrume, qualche ortaggi ed utensili da cucina e li si vuole mischiare con una punta di stile retro? Ecco che nasce il cotone "Veggies" creato da Maude Asbury (collezione "Kitchy Kitchen") caratterizzato da colori brillanti, disegni nitidi e quella punta di grafica anni '60 che amo tanto. 

Per questo motivo ho subito "aggredito" questo cotone e ho confezionato una simpatica borsa estiva: VEGGIE che sicuramente andrà a ruba nel mio Bigcartel. 

Ora non mi resta che lavorare sulle altre stoffe ^_^

April has started in the best way: I received three beautiful fabrics from the online store Seamstar with which I will create new summer bags and cute cases. On Seamstar you can find a wide range of seasonal fabrics from best designers and in the end I focused my attention on these three cottons. 

First, I chose "Kitty in Red" designed by Chloe's Closet because she recalls the theme of the cat, represents a longing for the past in both colour and pattern like the '30s style: vibrant colors, simple images and polka dots prints. 

From the carefree style of "Kitty in Red" we can jump to the contagious fancy of Alexander Henry and his "Leaf in Red" (from the collection "Griffith Park"). It features vines and leaves, in a creative wavy design where the pink shades off into deep purple. 

What do you get if you take some citrus, some vegetables and kitchen utensils, and and give them a touch of retro style? You get the cotton "Veggies" created by Maude Asbury (collection "Kitchen Kitchy") characterized by bright colors, clear drawings and graphics that recall the '60s. 

I love this cotton and for this reason I have "attacked" it and created a nice summer bag: VEGGIE. It sells like hot cakes on my Bigcartel.

HONEY CUCKOO BEE è spiritosa e soprattutto sdolcinata. Ho abbinato una stoffa con delle teiere a una con delle laborosie api e il risultato è questo!

E per ultima la borsa LULI tributo alla grandiosa disegnatrice argentina Luli Bunny (leggete il post che ho scritto su di lei!). Ho disegnato sulla borsa un suo personaggio e al posto delle guance ho messo due bottoncini rossi.
LULI is a tribute bag I made for the lovely and talented character designer Luli Bunny (read the previous article about her). I draw on the bag one of her special rabbit character and I used two re buttons for its cheeks.

Delicia

Finalmente è venerdì ed ecco a voi la borsa Delicia. 

Dopo un po' di mesi sono tornata a proporre una borsa con il tema dei pasticcini e dei cupcakes. Ho usato il tessuto "Happy Cupcakes" di Micheal Miller a sfondo rosa e subito ha avuto successo! 

Per renderla ancora più deliziosa ho aggiunto anche una fiocco (staccabile come una spilla) nello stesso tessuto.

Appena avrò tempo mi metterò a fare delle cover iPad e degli astucci con questo cotone kawaii, nel frattempo andate a fare un giro nel mio negozio online dove ho aggiunto le ultime novità www.fedulab.bigcartel.com

Baking muffins + Posting bags

Dopo aver postato tutte quelle foto delle stoffe cupcakes stamattina mi sono data da fare in cucina, anche grazie ad il nuovo libro sulle cakes regalatomi da Elisa e Gigi e ai nuovi attrezzi di cucina. Ecco i muffin a cioccolato appena finiti, serviti sui deliziosi piatti che mi ha regalato la signorina Twinkie. Giusto il tempo di andare in posta a spedire delle borse e me li sono gustati in compagnia <3 After the latest post about fabric cupcakes this morning I have been busy in the kitchen with my new book's recipe on cakes from Elisa and Gigi and my new kitchen utensils. Here you are the chocolate muffins served on delicious dishes that Miss Twinkie gave me. Blue Bessie and Blue Bitsy

Dall'idea buttata su carta alla borsa finita: ecco il processo che più spesso accompagna la creazione delle mie borse. Tempo fa avevo appuntato sul mio moleskine delle idee per due borse col tema del gatto e la settimana scorsa le ho terminate. 

Per entrambe ho usato un tessuto blu con grossi pois bianchi a cui ho applicato i musi di gatto. 

La borsa Blue Bessie riporta la gatta Bessie che pensa a un cuoricino e magia... la nuvoletta è in realtà una taschina! 

Invece la gatta Bitsy aspetta ancora che gli regali un bel papillon così da completarla come avevo previsto nel disegno per Blue Bitsy. Le borse sono disponibili nel negozio online http://www.fedulab.bigcartel.com/. 

P.s ora spedisco from Uk e i pacchetti impiegano circa 5 gg lavorativi ad arrivare in Italia con Royal Mail.

Meeooow Happy Thursday to everyone! 

Starting from an idea drew on the paper since the complete bag: here is the process that most often accompanies the creation of my bags. A month ago I pinned on my moleskine the ideas of two bags with the theme of cat and the last week I created them. 

For both I used a blue cotton with large white polka dots for background and then I have applied the cat faces. 

The bag Blue Bessie hosts Bessie the cat who thinks a little heart and... as if by magic actually the cloud is a snap pocket! 

Instead Bitsy the cat is still waiting for a nice bow so I can complete the bag as I predicted in the design of Blue Bitsy.

Unikko Mini for a bag

Era da un po' di tempo che bramavo di realizzare una bella borsa con i tessuti finlandesi di Marimekko e finalmente ce l'ho fatta!

Il tessuto Unikko Mini, proveniente dal negozio online Koti Design-house di Perugia, è il protagonista della borsa Eutalia che richiama il gusto colorato e spensierato degli anni Sessanta. Proprio negli anni Sessanta, precisamente nel 1964, Maija Isola diede vita ad una collezione di pattern realizzata a motivi floreali per Marimekko. 

Il pezzo di stoffa in mio possesso richiama i colori caldi del magenta, dell'arancio e del giallo che ben si combinano con il bordo rosso, infatti a gennaio avevo sperimentato questa combinazione per un copri pc.

Eutalia is a spring bag made with the stunning Marimekko's Unikko Mini cotton (from the online  store of Koti design-house). 

The Unikko pattern is Marimekko’s most iconic design and recall the 60's spirit. Maija Isola created “Unikko” in 1964 with a lot of flowers in different warm colors like yellow, orange and magenta. 

I mixed this piece of fabric with a red band and I'm really satisfied with the result. Last January I proved this combination for a cute cover laptop.
