Spring at Arundel

A couple of weeks ago I visited Arundel, a lovely medieval town located in the West Sussex. 

The main attraction is the ancient Arundel Castle composed by high towers and strong walls. Among all the beautifull things to see I appreciated the formal english garden filled with flowers (tulips explosion), fountains, pergola and green oak obelisks. 

The weather was perfect: a mild climate with a pleasant wind. 

One of the oldest part of buildings is the Fitzalan Chapel containing the tombs of the Arundel Dukes since the XV centuries and it is still the burial place of the Dukes of Norfolk. 

At the end I found a nice shop in Arundel city centre: a cute fabrics shop (so predictable).

Un paio di settimane fa ho visitato la medievale cittadina inglese di Arundel, nel West Sussex. 

L'attrazione principale è stato il castello con le sue possenti mura e le alte torri. Ma la cosa che ho più apprezzato è stato l'incantevole giardino ornato di fontane e finte architetture in legno. Il tempo era perfetto: vento leggero e sole mite. Inoltre i fiori o meglio i tulipani erano nel pieno della loro fioritura e così ho potuto scattare tante foto super colorate. 

Una delle parti più antiche del complesso di Arundel è la Fitzalan Chapel che custodisce le tombe dei duchi di Arundel dal 1390. 

Infine tra tutti i negozietti della cittadina non ho potuto resistere alla tentazione di introfularmi in un negozio di stoffe.

Maggio si apre alla grande per la mia insaziabile voglia di creare borse e cosette in stoffa infatti guardate quante meravigliose stoffe posso ora usare per i miei scopi.

- Large Rose è caratterizzata da una stampa ricca di rose di molti colori. Maggio sarà il mese perfetto per usarla! 

- Spot Deep Rose è un classico per il mio stile, sicuramente non farò fatica a usarlo.

Mentre preparo tante e nuove cosette con questi tessuti...vi lascio un'assaggio di quello che sta per arrivare (nuove cover per iPhone e cuffie per infermiere).

May starts with a bang for my insatiable desire to create little things with fabrics, in fact look through these fabrics I can now use for my purposes. 

From Abakhan online store http://www.abakhan.co.uk/ I received these beautiful printed cottons. 

- Strawberries Black and White with a cascade of flowers and strawberries with many dots. 

- Hearts and Dots (variants in cream, pink and white) is a funny cotton with small hearts and polka dots. 

- Cup Cakes with Pink sweets and a lot of hearts. 

- Large Rose is characterized by a print full of roses in different colours. May will be the perfect month to use it! 

- Spot Deep Rose is a classic cotton for my style, I will use it soon. 

If you are not sure about a fabric you can buy a sample on the online site Abakhan. 

While I'm preparing new creations I leave you with a taste of what is to come: new  iPhone covers and scrubs caps for nurses.

Sweet Treats Cupcakes family

Quante cose si possono creare da un singolo pezzo di stoffa?

A mio parere tante! In questo post vi mostro cosa sono riuscita a creare con il tessuto "Sweet Treats Cupcakes" disegnato da Michael Miller e che ho acquistato nel negozio online inglese Nelaro Fabrics (eBay).

Partendo dal presupposto che il tessuto è davvero molto bello e primaverile, ho potuto creare vari oggetti e soddisfare le richieste personalizzate delle mie clienti. 

Con la stoffa cupcake ho creato un porta iPad 2, un simpatico astuccio (trousse) e la borsa Delicia (sold out nel mio negozio online!). 

Fino a qui tutte cose normali, finché un'infermiera pediatrica mi ha domandato se potevo crearle una cuffia da indossare in ospedale...e così è nata la cuffia cupcake! Sicuramente i bambini in ospedale la troveranno più simpatica e magari si faranno fare le punture con più serenità. 

 

How many things can be created from a single yard of fabric? 

I think a lot and in this post I will show you what I created with the fabric "Sweet Treats Cupcakes" designed by Michael Miller and purchased from the Nelaro Fabrics online store (eBay). 

The fabric is really nice and cute so I made various objects and I met the demands of my own clients. With "Sweet Treats Cupcakes" I created a cute iPad 2 case (sleeve), a nice zippered case (cosmetic bag) and the tote bag Delicia (sold out on my estore!). 

Finally I created an unusual thing: a pediatric nurse asked me if I could create a scrub hat to wear in the hospital ... and so I made the cupcake scrub hat! Surely children in the hospital will find it funny.

Finalmente è venerdì ed ecco a voi la borsa Delicia. 

Dopo un po' di mesi sono tornata a proporre una borsa con il tema dei pasticcini e dei cupcakes. Ho usato il tessuto "Happy Cupcakes" di Micheal Miller a sfondo rosa e subito ha avuto successo! 

Per renderla ancora più deliziosa ho aggiunto anche una fiocco (staccabile come una spilla) nello stesso tessuto.

Appena avrò tempo mi metterò a fare delle cover iPad e degli astucci con questo cotone kawaii, nel frattempo andate a fare un giro nel mio negozio online dove ho aggiunto le ultime novità www.fedulab.bigcartel.com

Finally it's Friday and here is the cute bag Delicia. I used the fabric "Happy Cupcakes" by Michael Miller in pink background to make this kawaii cupcakes bag and I added a bow/brooch in the same fabric.

Sabato di relax. Questo weekend è venuta a trovarmi la cara Elisa (aka Wagashi Stories) e tra un te e un cupcake il weekend inglese vola. 

Ho avuto un paio di idee per usare la meravigliosa stoffa cupcake che è arrivata pochi giorni fa insieme al libro The vintage tea party.  

Saturday on relax. This weekend my dear friend Elisa (aka Wagashi Stories) pops up here, and between a cup of tea and a cupcake our weekend flies away. I had a couple of ideas for using the wonderful cupcake fabrics that I received a few days ago along with the book The vintage tea party. Have a nice day!

Cute iPhone Cases

Ho deciso di adoperare la stoffa Dottie Mushroom che ho acquistato alla fiera di Abilmente per creare delle simpatiche cover per iPhone 4. Le cover sono imbottite e hanno una comoda tasca per inserire gli auricolari o biglietti. Io ad esempio che non uso gli auricolari sfrutto la tasca per inserire biglietti della metro o tessere.

Ho poi finito un porta cellulare Samsung Galaxy per Michela con la stoffa cupcakes.

I decided to use the Dottie's Mushroom fabric I bought at Abilmente exhibition to create some nice cases for iPhone 4. The cases are padded and have a handy pocket for insert earphones or tickets. For example, I don't use the earphones so I insert the trains tickets or cards inside the pocket.

I then finished a case for Michela's Samsung Galaxy phone with cupcakes fabric.

Cupcake iPhone case

Di custodie iPhone ne ho fatte tante, ma questa volta ho aggiunto un dettaglio in più.

Sul dorso ho applicato una tasca per gli auricolari.

Effettivamente non ci avevo mai pensato, ma questa piccola modifica permette di tenere in ordine gli auricolari. Sarà successo anche a voi di ribaltare mezza borsa per cercare gli auricolari che rimanevano aggrovigliati sul fondo.

Grazie a Claudia che mi ha suggerito la modifica e che presto riceverà questa cover.

Una cover, per finire, utile e bellissima: basta soffermarsi sulla colorata stoffa coi cupcakes. Come resistere?

I've done a lot of cases or sleeves for iPhone, but this time I added a new detail.

In fact I applied on the case a task for the earphones. Actually I never thought about it, but this small change allows you to keep your earphones in order. It will be happened to you to looking for the earphones and overturn your bag.

Thanks to Claudia who suggested me the change and she will receive soon this cover.

Nuove Trousse

Nonostante lo studio universitario mi stia portando via un sacco di tempo (e fortunatamente sono quasi alla fine!) sfrutto le giornate di pausa per produrre qualcosina di nuovo e le ore buche per scrivere nuovi post: ad esempio ora che ore sono? Ecco mezzanotte, allora sono ispirata!

Mi sono avventurata nella creazione di queste capienti e comode trousse o case (per dirla all'inglese); sono versatili per contenere tutto quello che vi può tornare utile avere sottomano. Le misure sono 8cm x 8cm x 16cm e l'interno è foderato e imbottito.

Le stoffe con disegni medi e piccoli sono molto adatte per questi astucci e nelle seguenti foto vi mostro come poterli utilizzare.

Queste trousse possono ospitare trucchi, kit di cucito, macchine fotografiche e lomo (vedi la mia amatissima Action sampler), ma anche Nintendo DS, navigatore per auto, bigiotteria o matite.

Insomma il formato è davvero versatile e questa nuova proposta ha riscosso parecchio successo nel mio negozio online.

A breve pubblicherò nuovi astucci con nuove stoffe. YAY!
