My sweet stall

Yay! Here you are my sweet stall at the Southampton Vintage and Artisans Craft Fair ♥

I had a good day and I met a lot of nice people. I love talking to the people about my works. For instance I spent half of hour to talk with a cute granny about our sewing machines ahah luckily I was there with a nice helper and when I was busy with this lady he served the other customers.

A lot of people asked me where I found my beautiful fabrics and I suggested them my favorites shops.

What do you think about my stall? Any suggestions?

First I need to buy a rail to hang on all my handbags and a lot of new business card.

I'm ready for the next one!

 

Ecco a voi le foto della mia bancarella al Southampton Vintage and Artisans Craft Fair. 

Ho passato davvero un bel pomeriggio e ho incontrato tanta gente simpatica. 

Adoro chiacchierare con le persone interessate ai miei lavori. Per esempio ho speso mezzora a parlare con una nonnina a proposito delle nostre macchine da cucire ma per fortuna ero in compagnia di un valido aiutante che assisteva i clienti mentre ero impegnata in questa discussione. 

Tantissime persone mi hanno chiesto dove compro tutte le belle stoffe che uso e ovviamente gli ho consigliato i miei negozi preferiti. 

Bene, che ne pensate del mio allestimento colorato? Qualche suggerimento? 

Sicuramente dovrò comprare un'appendiabiti per le borse e soprattutto devo ordinare tanti nuovi biglietti da visita. 

Yeah, sono pronta al prossimo mercatino inglese!

London: Natural History Museum and Chinese New Year

We spent a lovely day in London last sunday. First we visited the Natural History Museum: it was my first time there and I was really excited to meet dinosaurs and all the animals from the smallest invertebrate to the giant blue whale. 

Then we went into Chinatown where we find the Chinese New Year of the Dragon's parade. It was really nice admire the Lion Dances pass through the streets to bring good luck to the households and shops they visited. I love the lamps and decoration of London’s West End. 

Definately I spent a nice sunday!

Abilmente, il giorno dopo

Ieri ho visitato la celeberrima fiera degli hobby creativi: Abilmente. Arrivata a Vicenza vengo travolta da una massa compatta di signore plus cinquanta armate di trolley e carrellini della spesa. I primi stand che catturano la mia attenzione sono stati ovviamente quelli dei tessuti e dei nastrini ma presto mi lascio infatuare anche di quelli del bricolage e delle perline. La fiera di Abilmente permette anche di partecipare a corsi (come quelli offerti dallo stand Etsy Italia)e a brevi lezioni di cucito e patchwork con famose maestre del settore.

Dopo un'ora di giretti tra gli stand comincio a notare anche i lati negativi, troppi stand che spacciano cose made in Italy o peggio fatte a mano quando sono palesemente ai miei occhi tutto il contrario. Ma lasciamo perdere...

Alla fiera incontro di persona Alessio di Legend Art: i bellissimi bottoni in ceramica che presto mi accingerò ad usare.

Incontro anche le simpaticissime proprietarie del negozio retro Fleur de Lin et Bouton d'or di Dinan. A loro dedicherò uno speciale post più avanti!

Tra tutte le cose che erano in vendita mi sono concessa l'acquisto di un set di fat quarters di cotone con il tema dei funghetti e un paio di bellissime stork scissors.

Yesterday I visited the craft fair Abilmente in Vicenza (Italy). When I arrived in Vicenza I'm overwhelmed by a dense mass of ladies plus fifty armed with shopping trolleys. First the fabrics and ribbons stands attracted my attention, but soon I explored all the fair. At Abilmente you can join in workshop (such as those offered by the stand Etsy Italia) and in short lessons about sewing and patchwork with famous teachers. I meet Alessio by Legend Art, beautiful ceramic buttons I soon set about to use and the shop owners by Fleur de Lin et Bouton d'or Dinan. I will dedicate a special post later about them!
I purchase a set of fat quarters of cotton with mushrooms and a beautiful pair of stork scissors.

Harry Potter Exhibition

Dove vi porto questo sabato?

Prima all'inaugurazione della mostra tributo di Harry Potter, organizzata dalla galleria d'arte Nucleus di Alhambra (California).

Gli artisti scelti (ADi, Peter Breese, Scott C, Felicia Cano, Mary Grandpré, Tang Kheng Heng, Brittney Lee, Mindy Lee, Keith Noordzy, Cheri Scholten and David Vargo), provenienti da tutto il mondo, hanno avuto l'occasione di elaborare le loro opere sul tema della saga di Harry Potter. Io adoro soprattutto quella di Brittney Lee.

E poi ci prepariamo all'uscita al cinema dell'ultimo capitolo Harry Potter e i doni della morte - Parte 2. Non vedo l'ora di vederlo!

Today, the Nucleus gallery inaugurates the HARRY POTTER TRIBUTE EXHIBITION.

Nucleus has chosen select pieces from the Harry Potter Tribute Exhibit for online auction. Eleven works are on the auction block including pieces by:

ADi, Peter Breese, Scott C, Felicia Cano, Mary Grandpré, Tang Kheng Heng, Brittney Lee, Mindy Lee, Keith Noordzy, Cheri Scholten and David Vargo.

Tim Burton across his genius

Fino alla fine di Ottobre presso il Los Angeles County Museum of Art sarà possibile ammirare una gloriosa retrospettiva su Tim Burton, per poter esplorare l'intero universo del suo lavoro creativo come regista, artista, illustratore, fotografo e scrittore.

La mostra raccoglie oltre settecento disegni, dipinti, fotografie, storyboards, pupazzi, artworks e costumi. Inoltre saranno visibili al pubblico i suoi progetti personali meno conosciuti e più intimi. Molti di questi oggetti provengono dall'archivio personale dell'artista, così come da archivi e collezioni private di collaboratori di Burton. Centinaia di opere d'arte mai esposte prima d'ora e schizzi saranno affiancati da una selezione di manifesti di film accompagnati da musiche composte per la mostra da parte di Danny Elfman collaboratore di lunga data di Burton.

Se avessi un biglietto aereo per Los Angeles la visiterei volentieri ;)

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art presents a major retrospective exploring the full range of Tim Burton's creative work, both as a film director and as an artist, illustrator, photographer, and writer.The exhibition brings together over 700 drawings, paintings, photographs, moving-image works, storyboards, puppets, concept artworks, maquettes, costumes, and cinematic ephemera, including art from a number of unrealized and little-known personal projects.

Many of these objects come from the artist's own archive, as well as from studio archives and private collections of Burton's collaborators. Hundreds of never-before-exhibited artworks and sketches will be joined by a selection of film posters accompanied by music composed for the exhibition by Burton's longtime collaborator Danny Elfman.

If I had a ticket to Los Angeles immediately I'll go to visit the exhibition.
