Hey Moomin

I hope that everybody knows the most famous characters of the finnish writer Tove Jansson: the Moomin.
The cute Moomin is a friendly troll but he looks like a white hippopotamus. I simply love this character and the magic place where his family lives, to be more precise I'm talking about the Moominvalley.
The last time I went in London I popped up at the Moomin official shop set at Covent Garden and I found a lot of amazing objects like book, mugs, pottery and handbags.
P.s. My favorite Moomin is Little My (Lilla My) because when she wants something done she does it straight way  ;)

Spero che tutti conoscano i famosissimi personaggi inventati dalla scrittrice finlandese Tove Jansson negli anni Settanta e ora tornati di moda: i Moomin.

I Moomin sono dei teneri troll che però assomigliano a degli ippopotami bianchi e io adoro loro e il delizioso luogo incantato in cui vivono, ovvero la Moomin Valley.

L'ultima volta che sono stata a Londra ho ispezionato da cima a fondo il loro negozio di Covent Garden e mi sono innamorata delle loro tazze, libri, borse e ceramiche varie.

Il mio personaggio preferito della saga è sicuramente la smorfiosetta Little My con le sue battute acidine e la sua caparbietà.

I'm writing you while I am looking at my new precious fabrics received from the online shop Nelaro, where I usually discover the most trendy cottons. 

I really needed new materials to make new creations for this summer and for the future markets.

Mentre vi scrivo per informarvi dei nuovi arrivi non riesco a fare a meno di fissare le bellissime stoffe che mi sono giunte dal negozio online Nelaro, dove puntualmente trovo le stoffe più trendy del momento. 

Avevo proprio bisogno di nuovi cotoni per ossigenare la mia creatività e soprattutto perché a breve parteciperò a dei mercatini estivi, quindi devo confezionare nuove creazioni.

Madame Camille and Axeline

Hi! What things most reminds you of summer? Hot days, ice cream, the buzzing of cicadas or the smell of salt water...

As for myself, no doubt they're roses and strawberries.

When I think of roses, I think of their beauty and their luxurious scent besides when I think about strawberries, I think of their sweet, succulent and plump taste.

For this reason I created two "summerish" handbags: Madame Camille and Axeline with gorgeous high-quality cotton fabric (available on my shop).

Se vi chiedessi di pensare all'estate che cosa vi verrebbe in mente? Le giornate calde, gelati, il cicalio delle cicale o il sapore dell'acqua salata di mare?

Per me le due cose che mi ricordano più l'estate sono le rose e le fragole.

Se penso alle rose mi immagino i loro colori vivaci e il loro profumo intenso, mentre le fragole le ricordo per il loro sapore intenso, succoso e dolce.

Per questo motivo ho dato vita a due borse estive: Madame Camille e Axeline entrambe realizzate con cotone di alta qualità e già disponibili nel mio negozio online.

2012 will be a year of celebration with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

When I decide to go to the city centre I walk by a fabric shop. Everytime I promise myself "this time you don't need anything". It was not until I saw the shop window packed with beautiful fabrics and I just can't help loving it.
Well, this time I bought a lovely printed cotton with a lot of hummingbirds.
I created the lovely handbag Polina H. and I adorned it with a pretry lace. I'm very satisfied and I'm proud to put Polina on my online store.

Quando vado a fare la spesa in centro città mi capita spesso di passare davanti a un negozio di stoffe. Ogni volta mi prometto che non ci devo entrare ma appena vedo l'insegna e le fantastiche stoffe esposte mi sento attirata dentro tipo oggetto in prossimità di un buco nero.
Questa volta sono uscita dal negozio tutta soddisfatta con un tessuto rosa punteggiato di mille colibrì che volano circondati da romantici fiocchetti bianchi.
Con il mio nuovissimo cotone stampato ho così creato la spensierata borsa Polina H. L'ho abbellita anche con due pizzi bianchi ricamati con delicati motivi floreali sul bordo. Devo ammettere che sono molto soddisfatta del risultato e sono fiera di pubblicarla anche nel negozio online.

Oggi vi parlo del fantastico sito inglese Rock n'roll Bride. Si tratta di un blog che pubblica set fotografici e video di matrimoni organizzati all'insegna dell'alternativo, selezionati da Kat Williams.

Credo che un matrimonio debba essere realizzato seguendo le aspirazioni e i gusti degli sposi e quindi bando al solito stile ingessato e rigido. Un pizzico di fantasia e di colore ci vuole!

Vive la Tour Eiffel

Con la raffinatissima stoffa di Micheal Miller "Eiffel Tower" proveniente dal negozio online Fancy Moon (il mio negozio di stoffe preferito!), ho realizzato due modelli di borse molto chic!

Vive la tour Eiffel è una borsa a doppi manici, perfetta per l'autunno e con un pizzico di vanità dato dal fiocco a pois.

Pois Eiffel è una tracolla romantica in cui ho abbinato alla stoffa con la torre Eiffel un tessuto a pois bianco e nero.

Cath Kidston mania

Se c'è una designer che rappresenta l'ambiente romantico e shabby chic di Londra è sicuramente Cath Kidston. Da più di quindici anni propone borse, accessori per la casa e il tempo libero dal chiaro stampo country ma miscelato ad un'allegro romanticismo un poco retro. I colori che la contraddistinguono sono il magenta, l'azzurro e il verde petrolio, mentre le fantasie più famose rimangono lo stampato a pois e il floreale.

Ovviamente non ho saputo resistere al suo stile e mi sono comprata un kit da cucito a pois color magenta e un porta aghi per maglia.

Per le vie di Londra e Portsmouth mi è capitato spessissimo di incontrare ragazze e signore con una borsa Cath Kidston, segno che il suo marchio è ormai un must per il look autunnale inglese.

I couldn't resist Cath Kidston's design. I love all her pattern and I bought in Portsmouth a cute polka dots sewing kit and a knitting roll. In London there were many girls who wore a Kidston's bag. I think her design is a must!

Con queste spille a forma di zampetta oggi chiudo il mio laboratorio. Rimarrò inattiva sicuramente fino all'inizio di agosto, ma continuerò ad aggiornare il blog con le ultime novità dal mondo creativo e tessile.

Nel frattempo sono in cantiere nuove grafiche per il sito e molte altre cosette interessanti, che spero si realizzeranno al più presto!

Vi mostro la mia ultima fatica realizzata su commissione: le Swan cover.

Ho realizzato un porta iPhone 4 e un copri MacBook Pro da 15'' in coordinato sul tema del cigno.

Mi è piaciuta subito l'idea del cigno e sono molto soddisfatta del lavoro!

Tra le tante cose indispensabili da portare in viaggio ci deve essere il sacchetto dei medicinali.

Con questa idea è nato il MEDICAL CASE: l'astuccio per avere sempre con se medicinali, cerotti e pillole.

L'interno è foderato con uno strato di morbido trapuntino così da contenere in sicurezza anche boccette di vetro. L'esterno di cotone a righine azzurre e bianche è abbellito dall'applicazione kawaii del simbolo del pronto soccorso, e la chiusura a zip garantisce la massima sicurezza di chiusura.

La primavera ormai incalza e anche le mie creazioni si fanno sempre più colorate ed estive. È ora di mettere da parte i nostri accessori invernali e lasciarsi coccolare da colori più spensierati.

PAPUJA è una borsa con una grande fantasia a pois e fiori. Per creare contrasto, i manici e il bordo sono fatti con un cotone a pois bianchi su stoffa blu. L'interno è reso spesso da un tessuto trapuntato che garantisce resistenza alla borsa ma anche una buona imbottitura per quello che vi metterete dentro.

Oggi ho realizzato queste simpatiche spille in pannolenci a forma di zampette. L'idea della forma spetta alla cara Elisabetta che mi ha informato del suo desiderio di regalare alle sue amiche delle spille a forma di zampa. Gli abbinamenti di colori che ho usato sono il rosa/bianco, ocra/marrone, marrone/rosa, bianco/rosa e bianco/marrone. Trovo che siano un ottimo regalo sia per gli amanti dei cani che dei gatti.
