Tadah! A lot of new fat quarters from Seamstar have just arrived! I'm very satisfied because they are exaclty as descripted, even more beautiful alive than in pictures. 

This time I've ordered: 

Timeless Treasures - Hoodie Daytime: because it features scene of Paris with the Tour Eiffel, Basilique du Sacré-Cœur, a cat, a bike and the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel 

London - London Landmarks: because it features the famous landmarks of London (Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, The London Eye ect) 

Timeless Treasures - Picnic Time: because it's a colourful cotton filled with cute vegetables on a pink squared cloth 

Timeless Treasures - Sewing Fun: because it features all the symbols of the craft world

Tadaaa! Sono arrivate le nuove stoffe che avevo ordinato dal negozio online Seamstar. Sono felicissima non mi aspettavo che fossero così belle e invece meritano proprio tanto. 

Nel pacchetto erano contenuti i seguenti fat quarters:

New fabrics just arrived!

This week is starting out well with these new awesome cotton print just arrived from Nelaro online fabric store. Now you have to imagine myself with shining eyes because everytime I'm handling new materials I go hog wild. 

Inside the package I found three cottons: 

Whiskers & Tails Lime Dogs designed by Robert Kaufman 

What can I say? It's adorable because it depicts an English park where several dogs wagging their tails. I recognized on it a dachshund, a Scottish terrier and a Labrador. I will create a passport cover with and some dog bandanas. 

Animal Party Too-Bright Summer Flowers by Robert Kaufman 

A cotton very cheerful, filled with colorful flowers. It will be perfect to create new handbags. 

Hearts & Flowers designed for the collection of Michael Miller 

If you followed this blog you'll recognize the fabric I used for my new pillowcase.

La settimana si apre con questi meravigliosi cotoni stampati appena arrivati dal negozio online di tessuti Nelaro.

Immaginatemi con gli occhi che brillano perché ogni volta che ho sotto le mani nuovi tessuti vado in visibilio. Nel pacchettino erano contenuti tre cotoni: 

Whiskers & Tails Lime Dogs disegnato da Robert Kaufman 

Che dire? Adorabile perchè riproduce un simpatico parco inglese dove vari cagnolini scondinzolano in giro, per la precisione ho riconosciuto un bassotto, un Scottish Terrier e un labrador. Con questo cotone creerò un porta passaporto e una bandana per cani. 

Animal Party Too-Bright Summer Flowers sempre di Robert Kaufman 

Un cotone estremamente solare, estivo e ripieno di fiori colorati, sarà perfetto per creare nuove borse. 

Hearts & Flowers disegnato per la collezione di Michael Miller 

Se mi seguite avrete riconosciuto il tessuto che ho usato per il mio nuovo copricuscino.

A royal ribbon with a linocut cats postcard

Domenica scorsa sono andate con amici al consueto mercatino del vintage e dell'handmade di Portsmouth: The Boutique Market. 

Tra tutte le meraviglie che c'erano sono stata attratta da un bellissimo nastro con la scritta Made in Britain. L'ho subito preso perché potrò cucire all'interno di ogni borsa questa etichetta così royal e chic. 

Proseguendo tra i vari stand sono finita a rovistare in un cestino pieno di cartoline, così non ho potuto fare a meno di portarmi a casa una cartolina che riproduce un gatto con la tecnica dell'incisione su linoleum (o linoleografia). Rispetto all'incisione xilografica risulta più grezza ed "espressiva", non a caso è stata la tecnica preferita della Die Brücke. 

Ho selezionato altri esempi di questa tecnica sempre con il tema del gatto.

Last Sunday I went to visit the Boutique market with my friends in Portsmouth. 

Among all the beautiful things on sale I bought two yards of a cute Made in Britain ribbon. I'll sew inside each bag a piece of Made in Britain ribbon! 

I bought also a nice card with a cat print with the technique of lino cut. This technique has been used mainly in the artistic movement of the Die Brücke. 

You can see more pictures of cats with lino cut, I hope you like them! Meow!

Si tratta del sito americano Spoonflower che offre la possibilità di acquistare e stampare cotoni e tessuti con fantasie ricercate e davvero uniche.

Il sito ha due parti principali.

Nella sezione Create potete trasformarvi in textile designer e caricare i vostri pattern e disegni, mentre nella zona Shop potrete ammirare la vastissima varietà di tessuti stampati che il sito mette a disposizione.

Poi vi capiterà di innamorarvi perdutamente di alcuni designer e di bramare tantissimo questi tessuti.

Unica pecca? Forse il prezzo.

Si parte da 11$ per un fat quarter e 18$ per un yard.

Però come dico sempre se una cosa è unica vale tutto il prezzo che si deve pagare.

Today I wanna introduce you a very interesting site for those who love pretty and cool fabrics like me. The Spoonflower's site offers the opportunity to buy and print cottons and fabrics with unique and indie design.

The site is composed by two main parts. Inside the Create section you can be like a textile designer and upload your drawings and patterns, while in the Shop zone you can admire the wide variety of printed fabrics that the site provides. The price starts at $ 11 for a fat quarter and $ 18 for a yard.
