La scorsa settimana sono andata dal mio stoffaio di fiducia e sono rimasta particolarmente colpita nel trovare tante stoffe col tema del cupcake. Avrei voluto acquistarle tutte ma alla fine ne ho presa una e a breve vedrete quale!

Oggi vi voglio parlare di un'illustratrice inglese di grande talento: Sarah Young. 

Sono follemente innamorata delle sue illustrazioni, dei dettagli sorprendenti nei suoi disegni e in particolare del suo stile inconfondibile ispirato al mondo burlesque, all'universo circense e dalle favole russe, oltre che dal mondo mitologico. 

La sua serigrafia è assolutamente meravigliosa! 

I miei oggetti preferiti sono gli strofinacci come Bertha, Felix la volpe e ovviamente il Oswald il gufo (che si trasformano in cuscini!).

Today I wanna introduce you about a very talented english illustrator Sarah Young. 

I'm madly in love with her ​​illustrations, the amazing details in the drawings and particularly his distinctive style inspired from burlesque, circus universe and folks tales. She also take inspiration from narrative and myth world. 

Her screenprinting is totally amazing! My favorite items are the teatowels like Bertha, Felix the Fox and obviously the Oswald the Owl.

Awesome Citoyennes de Berlin

Appena ho visto il negozio online della giovane designer berlinese Andrea è stato amore a prima vista. Così mi sono interessata ai suoi lavori e sono diventata una vera fan delle creazioni Citoyennes de Berlin. Andrea ama rielaborare grafiche vintage anni Sessanta (vedi gli adesivi con la mela) e anche i temi floreali (ispirati alla pittura nordica settecentesca). Il mio preferito in assoluto rimane il tema dell'uccellino sulla spilla e non vedo l'ora di appendere in casa le tre cartoline con il cerbiatto con le ali, il pettirosso e la lepre con papillon. Nelle foto si vede solo una piccola selezione dei suoi oggetti, vi consiglio di visitare il suo blog per respirare un po' di fresca aria berlinese e ammirare tutti suoi lavori.

Andrea is a Berlin-based young designer and owner of a cool lil-brand Citoyennes de Berlin. I'm interested in her artworks and I'm very fond of Citoyennes de Berlin's creations . Andrea loves vintage sixties graphic (see the stickers with the apple) and even the floral theme (such of the eighteenth century). My absolute favorite subject is the bird on the brooch and I can't wait to hang at home the three postcards with winged deer, the robin and the hare with a bow tie. I recommend you visit her blog to breathing the fresh air of Berlin.

S is for...spring, skirt and stripes

Ieri mi sono decisa a fare qualche nuova gonna per me e le mie passeggiate veneziane. Con un tessuto a righe bianche e blu ho ricavato questa gonna molto ampia da portare sopra la vita.

Il bordo è evidenziato da un nastro di raso turchese e la gonna è fermata da un elastico; sulla tasca ho infine applicato una fettuccia di nastro decorato con rondini, stelline e teschi.

Avevo bisogno di qualcosa di nuovo!

Yesterday I made a new skirt for me, 'cause i need a new look to walk around in Venice. I used a blue and white striped fabric. This skirt is very wide and i wear it high-waisted.

The edge is highlighted by a turquoise satin ribbon and the skirt is stopped by a rubber band on waist; on the pocket I applied a strip of decorated ribbon with swallows, stars and skulls.

I needed something new!

Spring time: due nuove borse

Era da un mese che avevo l'intenzione di lavorare il tessuto AMERICAN BEAUTIES della P&B Textiles (una delle più importanti aziende americane che producono cotoni stampati).

Alla fine mi sono decisa e ho sezionato il mio pezzo di cotone per ricucirlo sotto forma di due borse. Io e la mia macchina da cucire (con cui stranamente non ho bisiticciato) abbiamo creato due borse: ARLETTE e la tracolla MARLETTE.

Ho voluto sperimentare accostamenti con i colori pastello del rosa e dell'azzurro dopo essere rimasta colpita dal quadro di Poisson che ritrae la bella Madame Pompadour, proprio colei che portò la moda dei colori pastello alla corte di Versailles.

Nel negozio online troverete solo la tracolla MARLETTE perchè la borsa ARLETTE è stata venduta appena pubblicata. Che ve ne pare?

Jeanne-Antoinette Poisson, Marquise de Pompadour, painted around 1756 by François Boucher. This famous portrait of Louis XV's influential mistress is in the collection of the Alte Pinakothek in Munich, Germany.

I made two pretty bags with AMERICAN BEAUTIES by P & B Textiles (one of the largest American companies that produce printed cottons).
This quilt fabric has pink flowers with green leaves on a tone on tone soft blue background. My sewing machine and I created: Arlette and Marlette bags.
I was ispired by a Poisson's portrait of Madame de Pompadour, just the lady who brought the fashion of pastel colors (pink and blue) in the court of Versailles.
